This recently opened frenchified  burger place may not be the absolute best place for authentic burgers but it is a cosy place to go for a brunch, see and be seen, and reminisce about cold bud, cole slaw, carrot cake, corn flakes, etc. The uncharacteristically high percentage of small children in the restaurant adds to the relaxed atmosphere of what could otherwise be called another snooty bobo hangout together with the spontaneous blowing out of light fuses cheered on by the surprised guests.  Thumbs up for the decor, high school cafeteria-tasting coleslaw and quick service. Industrial-tasting carrot cake, though, wouldn’t be missed.

Away from the bustle, this discreet spa is nestled inside a quiet courtyard behind Palais Royal and Comedie Francaise. The natural earthy tones of the decor give a sense of calmness as soon as one walks through the door and the extremely professional and friendly staff as well as highly trained Thai masseuses is what sets this spa apart. On the menu one will find a 60 minute massage that will be personalised to one’s specific needs (90 euros), a 45 minute reflexology massage for tired legs (60 euros), a rich mix of treatments for the face and hair, and even an introduction to massage session for parents and kids (50 euros.) The boutique offers a wide range of the 100% natural beauty ‘potions’ by the HARNN brand.

As the name suggests this is a great alternative to the big crowded and rowdy night establishments. The sound still competes, the decor is boudoir red, the music is electro, the crowd is  happy and hip. A glass of champagne is 12 euros and a bottle is 200 and up. Its a place to dress up.
