This restaurant is great not simply because of its Nordic angle. The atmosphere is chic yet casual. The chef and staff are welcoming and accommodating and the food is fresh, refined, full of flavor and well realised. There is a 3 course menu updated every night as well as ‘choices a la carte.’ There is, of course, a focus on seafood and fish, although the meat dishes were perfectly executed as well. The ten euro house aperitif was nothing exciting so skip it and go directly for the wine, the aquavit and the herrings. This is a great little restaurant to go in small company of friends or a romantic evening and dress up.

This four-star hotel is home to a haute-cuisine restaurant with a very original menu and 1 Michelin star. Michel Troisgros, a famed chef whose parents were the originators of French Nouvelle Cuisine, aptly composed a brief and exquisite menu and categorised all his creations according to taste. A real gem in the Mabillon quarter of St Germain, La Petite Cour is mostly known for its ultra romantic terrace that is so inviting, so softly lit, so relaxing with the sound of the fountain that one could linger there all night. Everyone knows Place Sainte Marthe as the place for a great party during the annual Fete de la Musique, but with its quaint atmosphere, this tiny square is a peaceful refuge any day of the year, when one wants to stretch out on a terrace and enjoy a quiet drink and a hearty meal.
